Xingqun suggested multi-page layout. So I will try one for Negativ. Look at my blog for reference.

Basically it's navigation style, like many webpages, where you click click click and then you can read.

Because of the new layout style, new elements previously unsuitable for our blog will be included:

detailed introduction to each individuals with photos

detailed stories of how we met, formed, and achievements.

So give me suggestions of what I can do!

Most importantly I need your opinion for the colour scheme for the new template. Do you want black? (like the current one) or white/grey? (like my blog? I highly doubt so) Just tell me what you want and preferably with links etc for reference.

You can tell me also what kind of font do you prefer, what should be added and what should be removed.

Music for Life 2007

Thanks to all who came down to support us at Temasek Junior College! We're really singing for you guys more than anything.

We do apologise for the sub-par performance last evening though. We're currently expanding our repertoire and only started on these new songs less than 2 weeks ago. Handling the microphone balance (in terms of volume between singers) has always been one of the most arduous task presented to the sound crew and ourselves. Maintaining consistency between rehearsals to the actual performance was also an aspect which had been overlooked.

On our side, I'm certain the 6 of us will agree that it has been most enjoyable preparing for this concert. The stayover at my place, the hours spent in college, we were seeing each other almost everyday! Thanks to the organisers from TJC, who gave us this opportunity.

With each show, we gain more stage experience and learn more about a cappella singing. We'd like to better our singing and put up more performances of higher standards in the same light-hearted manner we always do.

Unfortunately, there may be some changes to Negativ in the coming year. Cil has decided to further his studies in Canada, while Xian Yong will return to Malaysia before making further plans. The rest of us will be called up for National Service.

Nevertheless, we'll be performing as often as time allows, so please continue to support us! We might be putting up a show in the Esplanade Library on 6th December, so do check back for more updates.

heyhey! nobody's been updating at all. and i wonder if anyone still visits this blog. oh well i did okay. at least once a week. hahaha.

anyway hope u guys did well for prelims. As is coming soon woohoo cant wait for it to end right! im quite sure we are performing for gradnight right? hmm so kelian de xingqun must arrange songs again. haha.

xiang asked if we wanna combine with the girls. 6 per group, so total 12 people. the only problem we see so far would be insufficient mics. the advantage? i think ur know better than me that some songs will sound better with a female tone ba. i dunno. but i think it'd be fun lah. to sing with them for, most probably, the first and the last time. and xiang has some crazy idea too! hahah.

Okay so u all know that there's a gradnight rehearsal next thursday 30th Nov in the sch LT1 AND WE HAVENT LEARNT/REHEARSE/ARRANGE THE SONGS WE ARE PERFORMING!

2nd Dec : Njchoir campfire night. What song u all wanna sing?
3rd Dec : J2 prom/graduation night. "Come away with me" and "Superman"

Oh yeah so we haf a PROBLEM! Not enough time to practice and not enough songs. Xq got this inspiration from Usher just now in Clarke Quay and sort of composed a new song so let's hope he can finish penning them down onto scores and let us learn. I am trying to arrange 简简单单 by JJ Lin for xy to solo. It's going be noobish so maybe we perform that for campfire night! anyway perform for choir dun need too high standards =D

Oh and pls welcome Cheong Chee Jun to perform with us in Cocolatte. He'll be our sound manage and 2nd vp! Actually i shd be the 2nd one since he's so pro. ah wells..

well jia hao and me have decided the costume for grad night performance. we will wear black blazer(choir blazer), black pants, black leather shoe, and a coloured long sleeve shirt(plain). now the only thing that has to be settled is the shirt. all of us will wear different colour. pls post what colour you want here so that there will be no clashes.

for me i want pink. if zhirui already take it i'll take yellow.

right, just want to record our progress (if you consider it any at all) here.

gradnight rehearsal, lt1, 10am (supposedly)

premiered superman (five for fighting) and come away with me (incognito). not well done AT ALL, but its not bad considering we only seriously combined at 730am. we didnt have full attendance (thanks zr), and we only had everyone at the rehearsal itself (well done negativ).

but considering the amazingly little amount of combining we had, think we did pretty ok. alot more work to be done (alot more procrastination?) . just wait and see.

jiahao: really want to applaud you for fantastic vp, really improved by leaps and bounds since you started. but dont get complacent! heh. go on, show me you can vp better than on a drum set.

xianyong: great job on getting the notes. you've been the weakest in sightreading among us, but been improving steadily. been hearing you come up with harmonies more easily. seems like midi wasnt a bad idea after all. time to move on to learning on your own, piano first!

cil: well done, you only saw the score today and were able to scrape through most of it. get your ball clamps and do those falsettos please! and omg get the original melody right before you throw in your blue notes lol, it should still sound incognito no matter what.

linus: always reliable, deep bass voice to give our songs a solid foundation. you know i like to challenge you with insane notes (like in come away with me), but you've been doing a really superb job at handling them! don't sing as if they're too easy tho, i wont hold back on upping the difficulty lol.

negativ: hope everyone is happy working in this group thus far! no, i will not arrange your favourite songs, not even those you prefer. negativ will sing what i arrange, fullstop. lol. but it wont be a bad idea to bring up nice songs, xingqun like means negativ gets to sing (provided he gets past the pre-arranging depression). songs will get harder and more demanding from here on! we love yakult!

i remember i DID say we are going out today to buy (or at least see) our costume for performance rite? and what happened?? all went out to dunno where... u all win liao loh... win liao...

so now we are left with 29th, the day JUST before full dress. i ASSUME that everyone CAN make it since there is a dunno what choir event on that day. so i expect everyone to be able to go on that day after the choir event. this is very very very VERY important.

wooo! nj open day performance at hall today! good job everyone! i think the audience enjoyed it. but the most important thing is that we ourselves enjoyed it! yeah! i think we still need more practices to get our chords correct hehe. anw we only learnt qian li zhi wai two days ago LOL and we haven't been singing heal the world for dunno how long. so must practise & practise since promos are OVER! for grad night cannot be like that le, haha since today is busking, so as long as we enjoyed it and the audience enjoyed it then it's good! xingqun organise practices pls!
